"Development of much-needed new pharmaceuticals backed by more than 290 years of history" The founder of Ono Pharmaceutical, Ichibei Fushimiya, set up shop as an apothecary in Osaka in 1717, in the era of Yoshimune Tokugawa, the famous shogun. Since then, Ono Pharmaceutical has committed itself to the field of pharmaceuticals. Specializing in ethical drugs, we focus on the development of innovative new prescription products that are highly evaluated by leading health care practitioners. The monument was built to commemorate construction of Central Research Institute (currently Minase Research Institute) in 1968.
